MeshBox together with its ecosystem partners SmartMesh and MetaLife have been invited to participate in the Global Web3 Eco-Innovation Summit at the Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre on 14 July, jointly organized by the SUSSand 8BTC’s new international branding “The Way of DeFi”. At the summit, MetaLife will showcase to the audience its newly launched social network application and demonstrate its ability to communicate without the internet. MeshBox’s Advisor Henry Wang and SmartMesh’s Vice President Soh Har Pangwill attend the summit.
In the little town of Anahuac, Texas (southeast of Houston), along the beautiful Double Bayou waterway, sits a rustic 180-acre ranch called the 9 Treasures Village which welcomes all to enjoy a relaxed country lifestyle. Brad lives on the premises and manages houses for Airbnb. For his business, he had previously paid USD $300 per month for two internet services (for redundancy): Hughes Net satellite, and Viasat. The combined maximum data rates for these two services were only 3 to 4 Mbps with unstable internet service. Since Brad’s business requires a stable, high-speed internet connection, he has been desperately looking for alternatives.
After a year of waiting in the queue, Brad finally received the Starlink internet equipment; and has also purchased a MeshBox++ outdoor Wi-Fi router and connected it to the Starlink dish. Currently, Brad enjoys 70 to 150 Mbps internet service at a cost of only $110 per month. The latency is low enough to allow Brad to play video games on his Xbox One S. Brad is quite happy with his new setup that provides WiFi to a wide area on the 9 Treasures Village ranch, including serving the Airbnb clients.
Software Development
- Tested new SMT and MESH contracts. Added owner permission settings, transfer functions, and functions for destroying and issuing tokens.
2. Recreated genesis block configuration file for the local node of the Mesh sidechain. The owner needs to be initialized in the configuration file. At the same time, since the position of related variables in the ledger changes, the initialized hash value of balanceOf, totalSupply related variables were adjusted, and tested to ensure the variables are configured correctly;
3. Tested and checked whether the reward addresses for mining and transaction gas fee income are correct in the PoA node of the Mesh sidechain. Tested PoS staking in the bound and unbound wallet states. If the wallet is unbound, mining rewards will be given to the miner node. All income will be sent to the income wallet after binding. Note here income wallet can also be bound for PoA non-taking nodes.
4. When the PoA node of the test Mesh side chain does not produce blocks normally, the PoS node will generate the block as a backup. When a PoS node tries to block the PoA node by generating a block, then the PoA node shall not be blocked. The PoA node can continue to generate blocks after synchronizing online;
5. Wrote code to simulate the wrong block issued by malicious nodes on Mesh sidechain and logic of network error correction;
6. Added logic to reserve MESH for PoM reward for miners in each epoch block, and call PoM contract-related methods to send the mesh tokens to the PoM contract to distribute corresponding rewards;
7. Configured the test and software development environment for MeshBox PoM and use qemu to build a virtual development environment;
8. Upgraded firmware of Mesh++ to the latest version, and continued testing on Mesh++ mesh network.
Hardware Development
1. Preparation for providing support for MeshBox PoM development;
2. Continued research on other blockchain development.
Conducted demand analysis on the new MeshBox App, and wrote functional specifications and details.

The Summit has invited leaders from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), including executives responsible for financial technology and innovation to attend and give keynote speeches in the summit. In addition, the summit has also invited many industry leaders and influencers to gather in Singapore to discuss the development of the Web3 industry. This will be the largest offline Web3 annual event in the Asia-Pacific region in 2022.

This setup in Anahuac is an example of a Space-Ground Integration Network that was conceived by the SmartMesh and MeshBox ecosystem and has been implemented on a ranch in the United States. A similar deployment is cost-effective for half of the world’s population that has no Internet coverage, a huge market potential. In the next five years when many low-orbit satellites are competing to launch and provide services, MeshBox will become the best value Internet access network infrastructure in most developing countries. PoM decentralized networking consensus will bring rewards and incentivize the deployment of WiFi Internet to such residents. Such people living in remote or underserved areas will be empowered to socialize, entertain, educate and live via the MetaLife intergalactic social network, and realize the original intention of Web3.0 One World One Web.
