MeshBox Biweekly Report (2022.06.25–2022.07.08)

The Global Web3 Eco-Innovation Summit, to be held on July 14 at the iconic Marina Bay Sands Hotel in Singapore will be an important milestone in the history of the Internet. MeshBox Foundation is busy preparing to show Web3 landing applications from the bottom, physical layer, to the application layer with the SmartMesh and MetaLife teams. MeshBox will provide a mesh network for the summit, and the ecological project Interstellar Social Network MetaLife will start beta testing for all participants at the Web3 Summit. This is the world’s first truly serverless Web3.0 mobile phone application, which supports network-less communication, social networking, and offline payment on a large scale for the first time. All participants of the summit can create their own GWEI2022 commemorative NFT through the H5 web page on their cell phones, provided by MetaLife, and the NFT will appear in the summit collection of Open Galaxy, the built-in NFT trading marketplace of MetaLife.

Software development

  1. Determined the rules of reward distribution in the PoM contract. The coefficients of the challengers, target nodes and witness rewards are directly related to the number of witnesses;
  2. Designed the Proof of Mesh (PoM) contract function method, which mainly includes the following:

(1) Add a device (administrator)

(2) Remove a device (administrator)

(3) Challenger obtains the target node from the network;

(4) Challenger sends POMReceipt to the network;

(5) Block-producing nodes send MESH rewards to PoM-related nodes;

(6) Obtain a list of network devices;

  1. Maintained the MeshBox-Tesla system that will be demonstrated in Singapore, updated and maintained related procedures;
  2. Studied the TCP protocol extension MPTCP on Linux, and checked the relevant RFC documents and implementations;
  3. Analyzed the implementation principle of the OpenWrt iwinfo tool, and determined how to obtain wireless-related configuration information and parameters through Lua.

Provided equipment test preparation and related technical support for MeshBox’s demonstration work at the Singapore Summit.

  1. MeshBox CEO Peter and SmartMesh Business VP Soh Har continued their business discussions with Hero Women Rising this week to plan how to deploy WiFi-based internet to remote areas in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, such as the highlands. A directional WiFi link connected to the MeshBox from a developed city such as Bukavu (about 90 kilometers away) can form the internet backhaul for a MeshBox network in Minembwe on the haut plateau. Such communications infrastructure will bring education and e-commerce to underserved girls’ schools in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
  2. MeshBox ecosystem partners SmartMesh and MetaLife are developing decentralized Web3 applications, including NFTs and DAOs, that will be used to fund infrastructure deployment in the Democratic Republic of Congo and many underserved regions of the world. The Eileen Murphy Foundation (partnering with Flowers for the Future) has established a STEM and cultural exchange with a girls’ school in Afghanistan and plans to use the school’s students’ artworks as materials to mint NFTs. The proceeds from the NFT sale will be used to deploy programs such as the MeshBox network and women’s education.

4. MeshBox CEO Peter said, “We are entering an exciting stage of HyperMesh infrastructure deployment, which leverages MeshBoxes. Everyone will soon witness the contribution of the SmartMesh ecosystem to web3 and the Internet of Value, benefiting people in areas where the Internet is underdeveloped.”
